When we talk about Divas, Tina Turner and Cher top any list. Not only were they lifelong best friends, but their lives followed similar paths. They began their careers under the restraints of controlling husbands and then rose from the ashes to become musical legends. With the help of our own divas, Christine Asero (Cher) and Ashley Williams (Tina), we will musically tell their story of survival and transformation.
Christine Asero holds a theatre degree from the University of Maryland and has trained at the Studio Theatre Acting Conservatory and The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Her favorite musical roles include Mamma Rose in Gypsy, Aldonza in Man of La Mancha and The Witch in Into The Woods. From 2018 to 2024 Christine was a resident cabaret artist at The Classic Theatre of MD where her musical talents were exorcised regularly (yes, you read that right!). Christine plays the guitar and regularly appears at various clubs and events. Other Lazy Mary Production credits include “Sunday Sauce”, “Seaside Greetings”, “When The Talkies Learned to Sing”, “Divas, Divas, Divas” and most recently “Broadway Scramble”.
Ashley Williams makes her Lazy Mary debut, but she is by no means a stranger to theater goers in our region. Ashley is a Virginia native and regional performer currently based in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Favorite credits include Rachel Marron in The Bodyguard and Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar. Ashley has also had the exciting opportunity to open for David Archuleta. She is thrilled to join Lazy Mary Productions in celebrating two legendary women of music, Tina Turner and Cher!
