That Other 70s Show

That Other 70s Show

March 29, at 2:00 & 5:00

From the Birth of Folk and Country to Rock & Roll, the Singer/Songwriter was slowly edging into the main stream. But it really didn’t seem to take off until the 70’s. Sit back and enjoy the melodies, the histories, and the memories as we present an evening with some of the greatest storytellers of their generation. At a time when Disco was king, there was so much more music being played outside of Studio 54.  We will pay tribute to Carol King, Carly Simon, Cat Stevens, Elton John, Billy Joel and Barry Manilow, each who has earned the title of Singer/Songwriter.

Meet The Cast

Donna de Kuyper – Vocalist

As an actress and vocalist Donna has performed Pop, Jazz, and Broadway music professionally for decades! Locally she he has enjoyed MC-ing Camp Rehoboth Chorus concerts, wrote and directed the Ode to Ed Sullivan Christmas show, “Hollywood Holiday”, and several musical fundraisers with dear friend, Maestro Doug Yetter. In theater, Donna most recently portrayed Joanne in “Company”, The Witch in “Into the Woods”, Dolly in “Hello, Dolly!”, and the Baroness Elsa Schraeder in “The Sound of Music”. Donna considers herself a true child of the 70s and really looks forward to her first appearance with Lazy Mary Productions. Donna and husband Scott own Hotel Blue in Lewes.

D. Justin Jewell – Vocalist and Guitarist

From 2014-2020 Justin and his wife Candice were seen all over Coastal Delaware as the acoustic folk rock duo The Family Jewells. Justin worked from 2004-2010 at Wytheville, Virginia’s Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre, doing multiple shows, revues and music gigs. For fun, Justin tries to soak up as much pop culture as humanly possible, reading books, watching films and listening to music constantly! He wishes to thank his wife Candice for being the textbook definition of a catch, his cats Gizmo and Figment for their wacky ways and his parents for the daily phone calls/ therapy sessions! Justin is excited to join Lazy Mary to “rock 70s style”.

Paul Maisano – Vocalist and Show Author/Director

As Artistic Director of Lazy Mary Productions, Paul is excited to flex his experience as a veteran cabaret performer by creating and directing a show featuring the music of the singer songwriters of the 70s.  Paul  has starred in a number of professional musical theatrical productions including a 3 year  run as the wedding singer in “Tony N’ Tina’s Wedding”.  Other credits include performing as a soloist with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and a mainstage performer on the Disney Cruise Line.  Paul has played Frank Sinatra in “Rat Pack Remembered” and solo Sinatra shows both at Universal Studios Florida and Walt Disney World.

Russ’ drumming experience spans big band jazz (college), jazz trio, musical theatre, Santana tribute band, jazz fusion, and rock.  More recently, he connected with professional drummer and educator Arti Dixson to advance his musical intelligence and skillset.  Drumming has been a lifelong passion and Russ is looking forward to his musical journey in Southern Delaware. This is Russ’ second Lazy Mary appearance following an awesome performance in the crowd pleasing production “Sunday Sauce”.
