2024 – 2025 Cabaret Season

An Evening With Frank & Ella

October 19, at 4:30 & 7:30

Welcome to an evening of the best of “Ol Blue Eyes” and the “Queen of Jazz”.  Paul Maisano and Donna Tucker-Jones will present their interpretation of many of the great standards that were the soundtrack of the Mid to Late 20th Century.  When the Chairman of the Board would team up with The First Lady of Song the sparks would fly as evidenced from the many TV specials they would do together in the 50s & 60s. Frank was quoted to say “Ella Fitzgerald is the only performer who made me nervous…I believe she is the best popular singer in the world….barring none, Male or Female.”

Sunday Sauce,  An Italian American Songbook Buffet

November 16, at 4:30 & 7:30

This show promises to be as comforting as a plate of pasta and a glass of Chianti. Paul and Susan will present an evening of favorites from the Italian American Songbook including songs made famous from such Italian Americans as Dean Martin, Jerry Vale, Louie Prima and Lou Monte among others.

Like food and family, music has always been a large part of the Italian American experience. We’ll serve up a St Joseph’s table full of great songs! From Volare, Funiculi Funicula, Non Dimenticar and Speak Softly Love (from The Godfather), you’ll be dancing down the street with the clouds at your feet singing “That’s Amore”.

When The Talkies Learned to Sing

February 15, at 2:00 & 5:00

In a time when singers like Al Jolson and Bing Crosby reigned supreme, some of the greatest standards in the American Songbook were introduced by a man who was known for his dancing than his singing, Fred Astaire. Both on Stage and Screen, he was asked  to be the first to sing these songs by the greatest songwriters of his time like George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin & Jerome Kern. And, we’ll pay tribute to other iconic performers that introduced so many classics we still love today including the work of the legendary Judy Garland.  So put on your Top Hat, White Tie and Tails and listen to these hits introduced by the masters and hear a little history about them.

That Other 70s Show

March 29, at 2:00 & 5:00

From the Birth of Folk and Country to Rock & Roll, the Singer/Songwriter was slowly edging into the main stream. But it really didn’t seem to take off until the 70’s. Sit back and enjoy the melodies, the histories, and the memories as we present an evening with some of the greatest storytellers of their generation.

At a time when Disco was king, there was so much more music being played outside of Studio 54.  We will pay tribute to Carol King, Carly Simon, Elton John and Billy Joel, each who has earned the title of Singer/Songwriter.
